Saginaw Metal Casting was selected as a finalist for this award for its NAWE designed on-site wetland treatment system that recycles plant wastewater.
1999 - "Minnesota Engineering Project of the Year" award from USDA Rural Development NAWE won this award for an innovative constructed wetland and drip irrigation system at Spring Hill, Minnesota. |  |
1998 - "Land Use & Community Development" award from Minnesota Environmental Initiative and a "Best of Region" award from the National Homebuilders Association.
The Fields of St. Croix won this award. This project, which was the first residential cluster development in Minnesota, features a NAWE-designed subsurface flow constructed wetland. |  |
1997 - Minnesota Environmental Initiatives award for Business for a point/nonpoint source pollutant trading permit.
Rahr Malting Company won this award. The permit was the first permit in the United States to allow multi-pollutant trades and require pound-for-pound reductions. It has been used nationally as a model of successful nonpoint source trading.
NAWE projects have been featured in a number of publications including Smithsonian magazine, Civil Engineering, Industrial Wastewater, National Homebuilder, Land and Water, Focus 10,000, Public Risk, Country Gardens, St. Croix Valley Press, Minneapolis Star-Tribune, The Saginaw News, and many other magazines and trade journals.
